I’ve known Allie since our freshman year of high school. We have come a long way since then; we survived high school, were roommates, changed hair color about a million times collectively, and have a lot of great memories. Most recently I have seen her fall in love with Nick, and now they’re married!

After being friends for so long it was only natural for me to do her wedding makeup. Allie wanted her makeup to look like Carrie Underwood’s. One problem, Carrie wears a lot of makeup and Allie doesn’t. So I came up with a plan, Carrie’s look is a lot of lashes and smoky sparkly eyes.  We would go more natural on the smoky eye, as well as foundation and contouring, but still give her really full lashes.

I got the perfect false lashes – Ardell Double Ups – they are two sets of lashes in one, and will give the perfect full lash – just like Carrie Underwood wears.

Here is what I used to get her gorgeous for the big day:

  • Laura Mercier Foundation Primer
  • Giorgio Armani Lasting Silk Foundation
  • Benefit Fake Up Concealer
  • MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Powder – Medium, Give Me Sun, & Soft and Gentle
  • MAC Blush – Well Dressed
  • MAC Fix Plus

  • MAC Eye Brows – Lingering
  • Laura Mercier Eye Basics – Wheat
  • MAC Eye shadow – Vanilla, Soft Brown, Corduroy, Embark
  • MAC Pigment – Vanilla
  • Urban Decay Eye shadow– Booty Call (in Naked 2 Pallette)
  • Makeup Forever Aqua Creamliner – Black
  • Maybelline NY Volum’Express Mascara, Waterproof – Blackest Black
  • Ardell Double Up Lashes

  • MAC Lip Liner – Hip and Happy
  • MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick – Royal Azalea

I made sure to really buff out her foundation so it looked as natural as possible. I started with a moisturizing serum to prep the skin, then spritzed with Fix Plus and smoothed on the Foundation Primer. I applied the Giorgio Armani Foundation first with my fingers are really worked it into the skin so that it was undetectable. I used concealer as needed – Allie has really good skin, so I didn’t need much. Then with my biggest fluffiest powder brush I dusted on a light layer of powder. When that was complete I spritzed again with more Fix Plus to give the skin a glowing dewy finish. I finished the face with Give Me Sun to contour, Well Dressed Blush on the apples of the cheeks and lightly dusted Soft and Gentle along the cheekbone as a highlight.

Allie doesn’t like her brows too filled in, so I just lightly used Lingering pencil to perfect them. I then buffed on Wheat Primer all over the eye lid. I wanted a warm combination of color so I used terracotta, gold, chocolate and rust tones for eye shadow; Soft Brown and Corduroy in the crease and a little bit of Embark in the corner to darken it up. My main color was Vanilla Pigment all over the eye lid to give that shimmer that Carrie Underwood loves. I did add a little smokiness under the eye by putting Embark under the lashes but kept it from getting too dark by putting a flesh color eye pencil along the waterline and a little bit of Vanilla Pigment concentrated on the inside corner. We finished the eye with black eyeliner with a small wing – waterproof of course! Then her fabulous Double Up Lashes.

TalkingLips were pretty in pink. I filled in the lip with Hip and Happy liner and then put the sheer and shiny Royal Azalea Lipstick on top.

The dresses were a very light blush pink lace and the wedding had a vintage country feeling, so I wanted to keep the makeup soft and pretty to go with it. I coordinated with Allies makeup, giving us the same cheek and lip color, but didn’t duplicate her entire face by keeping the eyes different.

Here is what I used:

  • MAC Blush – Well Dressed

  • Urban Decay Eye Shadow – Booty Call, Pistol (Naked 2 Palette)
  • MAC Eye shadow – Mink Pink
  • MAC Pigment – Fairylight (this was a limited color, it is a pale pink with a hint of sparkle)
  • MAC Cream Colour Base – Hush
  • Makeup Forever Aqua Creamliner – Black
  • Maybelline NY Volum’Express Mascara, Waterproof – Blackest Black
  • A variety of lashes

  • MAC Lip Liner – Hip and Happy
  • MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick – Royal Azalea

For the eyes I put Booty Call under the brows, Mink Pink in the crease and Pistol in the corner of the eye. I then put Hush on the eyelid and packed Fairylight on top. I finished everyone’s look with Black Eye Liner, Mascara and False Lashes. We kept it really soft and fresh looking; I wanted the makeup to look pretty but not to outshine Allie’s.

The wedding took place at The Union Hill Inn and the photos were taken by the talented Turning Leaf Studios. Allie was a stunning bride from head to toe. I’m so happy I got to be a part of her special day.
